Reid Has Plan to Block Recess Appointments

TPM Cafe story:

Reid Will Repeatedly Call The Senate Into Session, To Block Recess Appointments

U.S. News reports that Harry Reid has a plan to block President Bush from making recess appointments during the upcoming August vacation: Reid will call the Senate into a quick session every ten days, in order to stop the President from having a window in which he could make appointments.

I wonder how many Republicans will claim this is just a deliberate plot by Mean Ol' Harry to disrupt their vacations...

What a riot - politics at its finest.

"I wonder how many Republicans will claim this is just a deliberate plot by Mean Ol' Harry to disrupt their vacations..."

Plenty, is my guess, and Harry should refer them to the White House.

Paul Hamilton:

I think it's a terrific idea. Of course it remains to be seen whether he will actually do it or not since the Dems have a way of talking big and then backing down at the critical moment.
