Progress in Iraq? Eat this, Republicans

I don't know anything about the organization behind this television ad that targets the re-election of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), but it sure is effective.

Steve Crickmore:

Everything is a sign of progress in Iraq..I'm surprised some enterprising soul has manufactured real 'signs' them so they could be placed all over Iraq whenever a visiting Republican politician comes to Iraq like McCain after his market visit "I'm trying to make the point over and over and over again that we are making progress. There are signs of progress. But it's long and it's hard and it's tough."

Beware taking Brookings reports at face value. There are smart people there who can give a good consultation, but they also will form to order. And for OJ, you know what the order is: optimize the outlook in Iraq. In the usual dispassionate Brookings way, of course.

Brookings is the firm the US government hired to reinforce the No UFOs meme, by reason of "we'll all go NUTS and rape nuns with monkeys". How convenient for Raytheon and GE.

On the other hand, they have definitively presented the facts of how downtown areas are NOT reinvigorated by building tax-payer funded sports stadia there. Most (all?) anti-kelo/stadium interest groups rely on Brookings material.

So Brookings can play it straight or strictly for cash. Interesting outfit.
