It looks like the Liar-in-Chief is up to this old tricks:
Secondly, it's up to Iran to prove to the world that they're a stabilizing force as opposed to a destabilizing force. After all, this is a government that has proclaimed its desire to build a nuclear weapon.
As with Iraq before the invasion, what we are seeing now with Iran is part of a calculated campaign of disinformation and outright lies meant to drum up popular support for going to war with that country. These are the sort of lies that the right-wing blogosphere eagerly gobbles up and begins repeating over and over again as if they were fact. If you repeat a lie often enough it buries itself deep in the subconscious and people begin to believe it's true.
Iran has never admitted that it is developing a nuclear weapons program. They insist that their pursuit of uranium enrichment is solely to provide fuel for nuclear power plants which they desperately need. They maintain that their program is for peaceful purposes only.
Whether that's true or not is something we can't know for certain, but what we do know is that President has once again told a blatant, out-and-out lie in order to fool the American people into believing a threat exists where, in fact, none exists. Iran has never "proclaimed" that it wants to build a nuclear weapon. They don't have inter-continental ballistic missiles or nuclear weapons, and cannot hit the shores of our country with anything. Simply put, they pose no military threat to the US whatsoever. And, given Israel's overwhelming superiority in conventional and nuclear weapons, Iran doesn't pose much of a threat to them either.
These are just bald-faced lies, and its our duty as citizens of this country to call the President out when he lies like this.
