Luciano Pavarotti 1935 - 2007

Luciano Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma at the Torino Winter Olympics, 2006.

Mr. Pavarotti passed away in Modeno, Italy on September 6, 2007 at the age of 71. The cause was pancreatic cancer.

A recording of Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma was played as his casket was moved from the church yesterday -- the casket proceeding down the aisle slowly, reaching the doors of the church and entering the sunlight at the end of the aria as the crescendo builds.

Damn! That was last year? At age 69/70?

I always knew Pavarotti owned it in the resonance department, but I figured his wind went out years ago. WRONG!!!

Thx for the clip.

I'll have to console myself now with the knowledge that we still have Fiddy Cent
