Despite last weekend's attacks on the Frost Family (pictured above) being exposed as nothing more than a coordinated, hateful lying right wing smear effort that has now been traced back to emails sent out by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's (R-Ky) office, the queen of right wing hate media Michelle Malkin strives to build on her well-deserved reputation of 'attacking first and asking questions later' and continues to spew her hate at the Frost family, as this excerpt from a recent email sent out by Malkin clearly shows:
A word for all the faux outraged leftists accusing conservative bloggers of waging a "smear campaign:" Asking questions and subjecting political anecdotes to scrutiny are what journalists should be doing.
When a family and Democrat political leaders drag a child down to Washington at 6 in the morning to read a script written by Senate Democrat staffers on a crusade to overturn a presidential veto, someone might have questions about the family's claims. The newspapers don't want to do their jobs. The vacuum is being filled.
If you don't want questions, don't foist these children onto the public stage.
Fight your battles like adults and stop hiding behind youngsters dragging around red wagons filled with your talking points."
Asking questions? Those weren't questions the right wing hate machine were throwing at the Frosts, those were flat-out false accusations and lies. Let me quote from Wizbanger Kim Priestap's post again:
Priestap attacks: "First, Mr. Halsey Frost, Graeme's father, owns his own woodworking design studio, Frostworks, so his claim that he can't get health insurance through work is shockingly deceptive."
Reality: The business that the critics said Mr. Frost owned was dissolved in 1999.
Priestap attacks: "He chooses not to get health care for his family."
Reality: The Frosts applied for private health insurance three times before enrolling in S-CHIP, and were rejected each time because of pre-existing conditions.
Priestap attacks: "Graeme and his sister Gemma attend the very exclusive Park School, which has a tuition of $20,000 a year, per child."
Reality: Graeme attends the school on a scholarship that costs the Frosts $500 a year, and Gemma's tuition is covered by a state education program
Priestap attacks: "[T]hey live in a 3,000+ square foot home in a neighborhood with smaller homes that are selling for at least $400,000."
Reality: According to pubic records the house has a value of $260,000.
And apparently the right wing hate media machine, as exemplified by Malkin and Priestap, would have the Frosts lose their house and declare bankruptcy rather than be insured under this program even through the Frost family income of $45,000 a year is $10,000 under the current state cutoff.
That kind of catastrophic loss of assets, the loss of everything they've built and saved as a family, is exactly what health insurance is supposed to do -- protect a family from 'losing it all' over a catastrophic illness or injury.
Meanwhile the right wing hate-filled bloggers, who've gone so far as to actually post the Frost's home address, take this hate campaign -- co-ordinated behind-the-scenes by the Republican leadership in Washington -- and roll on... rolling right over the Frost family just as it rolled right over anti-war veterans a few weeks ago.
It's nothing less than disgusting, absolutely disgusting.
