Iran Reacts to Bush/Cheney Nuke Lies

Iran reacts to the news that shows Bush and Cheney have been lying to the American public about the Iranian nuclear threat:

Iran's foreign minister on Tuesday welcomed the U.S. decision to "correct" its claim that Tehran has an active nuclear weapons program, while Israel's defense minister said Israeli intelligence believes Iran is still trying to develop an atomic weapon. A U.S. intelligence assessment released Monday reversed earlier claims that Iran had restarted its weapons program in 2005 after suspending it in 2003 because of international pressure.

"It's natural that we welcome ... countries that correct their views realistically which in the past had questions and ambiguities about (Iran's nuclear activities)," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said.

Conservative lawmaker Elham Aminzadeh told The Associated Press that "it proved that Iran is not a danger to the world, as some members of the Bush administration claim."

In Vienna, the U.N. atomic watchdog agency said the U.S. finding is consistent with its own.

"Although Iran still needs to clarify some important aspects of its past and present nuclear activities, the agency has no concrete evidence of an ongoing nuclear weapons program or undeclared nuclear facilities in Iran," International Atomic Energey Agency director-general Mohamed ElBaradei said.

Oh what a tangled web the GOP has woven. The lies of the White House are tainting many of the Republican presidential candidates. They've all parroted the same lies and scare tactics as part of their campaigns to frighten Americans into voting for them. They're as guilty as Bush and Cheney.

Apparently "international pressure" is now a euphemism for "We blew the shit out of a neighboring country over the same issue"

Steve Crickmore:

Bush's credibility is becoming thread bare on this issue..He says he learned about just a week ago in today's press conference, but it is clear his national security advisor Hadley said he told him last August. What did he know and when did he know it? It is really troubling that this two-faced moron is the most powerful person in the world, with a finger on the nuclear trigger for at least another year.

Lee Ward:

Professional liars like Bush parse their words carefully, Steve. Bush may well have learned of the "report" a week ago, but the report is a compilation of intelligence gathered from multiple agencies, and the notion that the agencies knew months ago but Bush just learned of the status of Iran's nuclear program last week is patently absurd.

So when Bush says "I first saw the report a week ago" or something similar he's once again misleading the public, making them think this is "news" to him.

Bullshit. Absolute lies and bullshit.

National Guard LT:

Steve Crickmore, I believe Bush. The NIE that was just released on the web in adobe format is dated "November 2007."

This non-classified version was probably put together in the last week.

Just like technically Clinton did not have sex with that woman.

Bush is a lier, Clinton was a liar.Is Bush equal to Clinton or has he passed Clinton? I think worse than Clinton which I say as someone who voted for Bush.
