Obama Campaign in a Panic, Making Mistakes

Obama chief economic adviser Austan Goolsbee started things off last week, and now we have Obama's Senior Foreign Policy adviser declaring that Hillary is right -- Barack Obama is not qualified to answer that red phone at 3 am.

Really, that's what she said.

"Clinton hasn't had to answer the phone at three o'clock in the morning and yet she attacked Barack Obama for not being ready,'' Ms. Rice said. "They're both not ready to have that 3 a.m. phone call."

It's not surprising that Rice declared Clinton wasn't qualified -- the Obama folks are following and playing by the Queen's Rules -- Queen Hillary makes the rules and Obama seems quite willing to play by those rules -- so after Clinton delcared Obama not ready of course Obama's camp would parrot that line and throw it right back at Clinton.

Obambi's lack of creative thinking aside, despite his previous months of declaring that he was going to elevate the discourse and stay above it all -- that plan has been thrown out the window in a panic, and Barack is slinging mud just like the rest of them. His talk of raising the discourse was just that --- all talk. Bullshit, nothing more.

But he obviously can't pick intelligent advisers either. These days his closest advisers are hurting him more than helping.

Hey, Rice was being honest. Obviously, she is unqualified to be a political consultant.

Steve Crickmore:

A pretty dumb comment by Susan Rice, but hey but this present administration does not seem any more qualified to receive bad news wake-up calls either..I remember Condi Rice said she was shocked to watch the news on the CNN and learn that Hamas had won the Palestinian elections on CNN, while on her stationary bike at 6:30 am at her health club and Bush's aides were extremely nervous about waking up Bush and who should give him the bad news about the destruction of Hurricane Katrina when he was in California, because of his temper and predilection to avoid bad news.

If you really thought about it, at 3:00am, one would much rather wake up Obama who has an easy going temper and is more level-headed than Hillary, in my opinion.

Steve Crickmore:

Just after I wrote my comment the next thing I read was this ..I know you guys won't agree, but I have worked for many bosses in my life, some of them political, and I can tell you I much prefer the more unflappable Obama to the 'Adele H.' Clinton in a crisis.

When the red phone rings at 3am Obama will turn to his advisers for input.

That's pretty scary given the perfect trifecta of Obama adviser stoogery we've witnessed this last week.

Pretty good defense of Obama's qualifications from Larry David, the well-known expert on . . . well, nothing, really. The model for George Constanza character on the Seinfeld series, great!

Love the show. Watch the reruns over and over, some classic stuff. But would I consider any of those involved as someone whose opinions on politics, foreign policy, economics, history, or even life in general merited attention?

Not on your muffin top . . .
