I was very pleased to see such a strong turnout for any Democrat as this. I'm happy to live in a state this "Blue". Oregon was once a Republican stronghold, but has been firmly in the "Blue" camp for some years and the Republican statewide machine is in some serious need of repair work and even failed to field candidates for some important statewide offices yesterday such as Secretary Of State and Attorney General. Republicans once held both of those offices such as the legendary Clay Myers or Dave Fromeyer.

Umm, I know it's a lot easier to push your Marxist propaganda when you ignore most of the facts, but most people prefer to hear the whole story:
"From CNN to the New York Times, the media hyped Barack Obama's Portland, Oregon rally on Sunday, some comparing him to a rock star.
"Unmentioned in national reporting was the fact that Obama was preceded by a rare, 45-minute free concert by actual rock stars The Decemberists. The Portland-based band has drawn rave reviews...
"There's nothing wrong with a candidate using celebrity power to draw a crowd, but the media have a responsibility to report their presence. By ignoring the free concert, the Times and other outlets made it appear that 75,000 people were drawn only by Sen. Obama's considerable charisma."
But I'm sure since Lee has temporarily changed his support to the messiah, he no longer has the ability to recognize press bias. Sad. Typical, but sad nonetheless.

Jay Leno: "It was quite a weekend, politically. An estimated 75,000 people attended a Barack Obama rally on the banks of the Willamette River. And if you believe the media, listen to this: After the rally, Barack Obama fed them all with just five loaves of bread and two fish."

I heard it was just three loaves of bread, and two fish...
And linking to the idiots at Newsbusters gets you no points, Bunyan - in fact you get negative two points... those liars are full of crap.
Let's see -- who do I believe -- every major newspaper, radio and television outlet... or some jerk at Newsbusters who is sore because the GOP nominee is a senile old fart?

LOL
That's precious.

I just want to make sure I've got this straight. You're calling Newsbusters liars because they posted a true story, but failed to update that story after the AP corrected their initial biased lie (after they were caught), BUT all the major press in this country misreport on the messiah's speech, totally ignoring a major and true detail, and that's just fine by you. The press didn't lie, but those who correct the lies and bias in the press do.
Ok. Just so I got that straight. And just in case there are any new readers here who think you have any credibility.

When the AP was made aware of their error, they corrected it. The subject of the story, John Weiler, contacted the AP and informed them that their story was incorrect, and they corrected it.
When Newsbusters was aware of their error, they didn't correct the story, because the lie they were telling fit their political agenda.
And these are the idiots you linked to -- the Newsbusters "media watch' partisan idiots who are perfectly willing to allow their false reporting to go uncorrected.
That's called lying -- knowingly allowing their false reporting to persist when they know what they wrote is false.

Show me where I said that .I certainly don't recall writing that - and for your sake I sure hope you're not lying.
So please indicate here I said there was no concert preceding Obama's rally. And be quick about it - I've grown tired of your bullshit.

"Show me where I said that."
If that's not what you meant when you typed this:
And linking to the idiots at Newsbusters gets you no points, Bunyan - in fact you get negative two points... those liars are full of crap.
Let's see -- who do I believe -- every major newspaper, radio and television outlet... or some jerk at Newsbusters who is sore because the GOP nominee is a senile old fart?
then just what did you mean?
"When Newsbusters was aware of their error, they didn't correct the story, because the lie they were telling fit their political agenda."
Newsbusters did not make an error. Their post was true. It was not a lie. If you believe that they "lied" by failing to update their post after AP updated their story, then you are just as big a liar for not updating this post when it was pointed out to you that this crowd may have been there for more reasons than just to see the messiah.
6 1/2 hours and counting. I guess you're a liar and full of crap!

Newsbusters's blunder was a post that contained a factual error they knew about and did not correct.
And it's the opinion of those liars at Newsbusters that you are pointing at to counter the facts stated in this post, and to call me a liar. It's their opinion (and yours apparently) that the crowd would have been significantly less had it been Obama only, but since I don't share that opinion you call me a liar for stating my own opinion instead? Hmm, nice try -- well, actually -- it's a pretty pathetic try, and not even a good troll attempt.
And on that note you're out of here. Good luck with the whole "IQ of a log" thing you've got going for you, Bunyan, It's a real classy act.

First off, you can't ban someone from a dynamic IP so you're going to have to just delete my posts from now on. Should be a lot of fun for you since you leftists hate free speech and all.
Second, I only called you a "liar" using your own logic that you used to call Newsbusters lairs. You could not refute the fact the no one but Newsbusters reported the whole story on this rally so you went ad-hominem.
Third there was no factual error in the Newsbusters post. It was correct an true. The AP made the factual error (which is what Newsbusters reported) and then they later corrected it, but just correcting their error does not mean it never happened, and thus make the Newsbusters piece a lie.
Newsbusters could have updated their post and pointed out that the AP fixed their misreporting, but they chose not to. You could have updated your post and pointed out that there were more reasons for people to be at that gathering than just to hear the Marxists messiah tell us how the government should control how much we eat, what we drive, and at what temperature we keep our homes.
Lastly, I think it's just so precious that you'd try to ban someone for doing something you do constantly. Typical "do as I say not as I do" leftist, Marxist you are Lee. I know your full of hate for those who choose to challenge your anti-American Marxist worldview but your hate only harms you it has no effect on those you hate and does not make liars out of them.

"Third there was no factual error in the Newsbusters post. It was correct an true."
Newsbusters ran with the AP report despite the clear evidence in the video that correctly identified Weiler's rank. The evidence is right there in the video grab at the the bottom of my post that correctly identified Weiler's rank, but Newsbusters ignored that and went with the erroneous AP report because it suited their political agenda.
The Newsbusters post was not a story about the AP report, that wasn't the subject of their post - their post quoted the AP (and in doing so they ignored the evidence right there in the video) but the subject of their post was Weiler.
Their post isn't a critique of the AP, it's is a challenge to the integrity of Weiler.
When Newsbusters had further prof that their slam against Weiler was uncalled for (above and beyond the damn title graphic right there in the video) they ignored that additional proof which exonerated Weiler as well, and let their lie stand.

And I did some fact-checking on the Newsbusters bullshit you're pointing to as the basis for your criticism of this post.
The rock group in question, the "Decemberists," recently toured, and at their tour stop in Los Angeles they performed at the Henry Fonda Theater. That venue's website shows the capacity of that theater is 1,300.
They played in Portland a few weeks ago at the Wonder Ballroom. The capacity there is 778.
So Newsbusters lies and states that the crowd of 75,000 plus at the Portland Obama rally was due to the rock band that provided a one hour warm-up, and morons like yourself, along with the airheads in the right wing echo chamber, just repeat the lie and spread it around.
Fine - that's your prerogative, but call me a liar because I chose to ignore this bullshit? At the same time that you are ignoring the evidence such as the screenshot on my Newsbuster post that proves that Newsbusters misreported on their own then chose to not correct their lie?
cya!

Is the point that you're trying to make that a band that played at small venues could not possibly draw a large crowd? I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. Surely no proof or evidence.
If you were to find proof of the size of the crowd before the concert, then after the concert and before the messiah's sermon on the river and then how many were left at the end, then you could prove something. Without it you're just grasping and dealing with opinion.
Parts of the Newsbuster article were opinion, I can't argue otherwise, but two points were fact: (1) the sermon was proceeded by a free concert, and (2) none of the leftist media bothered to mention fact #1.
As far the Newsbusters article about Weiler goes, you can say it was biased, you can say it was misleading, but not one single thing in the article was untrue. I actually agree with you that they should have updated the post after the AP corrected their biased and misleading story, but for whatever reason, they chose not to. Still, even today there is not one thing in the article that is not true. Some of it is opinion, but there is not one single fact in that article that is untrue. Just like the Sermon on the River article.
If being biased and misleading makes one a liar, than the NYT, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, PBS, and the authors of Wizbang Blue are liars.
Notice I did not call you a liar, but I said that someone using YOUR logic would call YOU a liar. I don't use your logic so I don't think you're lying. You just stick to the part of the story that supports your bias and ignore and attempt to "swiftboat" every other relevant fact.

The last time this band played in Portland they played to a crowd of less than 800. Neither you nor the Newsbusters story you slavishly linked to and used to make the claim that I lied has any facts whatsoever that suggest this band was responsible for a significant part of the crowd. It's merely the opinion of the liars at Newsbusters who've recently shown their willingness to ignore and overlook facts to promote their agenda.
FACT: On the other hand, Obama routinely draws huge crowds. repeatedly, reliably.....
FACT: In the great city of Los Angeles, this band played to a crowd of less than 2000.
FACT: The last time this band played in Portland prior to the Obama rally they played to a house that was less than 800.
Facts win out over right wing bullshit again. Reality definitely has a left-leaning bias.
