Last evening, Jay Tea, one of the writers over at the conservative sister Website of this progressive one, Wizbang, challenged me to cite my sources for the news that I based my commentary on about the Troy King gay sex scandal. I replied that a court reporter, Mark Kernes was just one of many writers who broke this story about the latest scandal to hit the John McCain campaign. A Google search using the keywords, "Troy King Scandal" brings up many more, if not hundreds more sources for this latest breaking scandal to rock the McCain campaign.
Transworld News, Alabawg, Docstoc, Edge Boston, Daily Dixie, Digg, Free Republic, Topix, AVN, Airliners.net, Bradblog, and perhaps several hundred more news sites and blogs are all reporting this story about a gay sex scandal that brought down the Alabama state chairman of the John McCain campaign, and an attempt by the McCain campaign at damage control to quietly rid any official campaign website of any reference to their Alabama state chairman, Troy King.
The fact of the matter is that the McCain campaign is in real trouble once again with so many resignations coming at once due to scandals as well the total lack of leadership by John McCain to delegate responsibility to responsible persons who don't cause him nothing but trouble. Even before the primary season started, the McCain campaign was rocked with problems and pretty much fell apart, but somehow McCain captured enough delegates to win the Republican nomination. Now the campaign is back in distress mode once again, although the polls don't really show it as of yet, where the McCain campaign is once again taking on water from all sides due to poor management.
If anything, it is merely public respect and goodwill towards John McCain that prevents him from a total electoral meltdown and from running 20 points behind Obama right now. But you know in the end that such a chronically poor campaign cannot win the White House.
This might be why a few John McCain supporters are so distraught and upset that they cannot accept all the bad news that John McCain is no manager whatsoever and would likely be one of worst one term presidents in the history of this nation if actually elected. But like some political "Doubting Thomas", unless they can really put their fingers into all the wounds in the McCain campaign, then they do not believe that all these wounds are real and that they support a totally inept and awful presidential campaign simply not up to the job of ruling this nation.
The fact of the matter is that John McCain has delegated leadership to some of the very worst persons of any campaign that I can remember in my entire lifetime. McCain's terrible campaign effort so far makes the awful Michael Dukakis effort of 1988, where he squandered away a nearly 20point lead to lose by 54-46% to George Bush, look simply masterful by comparison.
By comparison, the Obama campaign is run like a well tuned machine and nearly flawless and on message, while the McCain campaign wanders in and out of messages and themes on a daily basis and is little more than a trainwreck of resignations of persons unfit to serve in a McCain Administration. Any McCain claims of "experience" are almost daily being drowned out by a Three Stooges comedy act of some sort in the backgrround of the McCain campaign of something going wrong somewhere and somehow.
More and more the public will view the young Illinois senator as someone who knows how to lead and how to achieve results, while the McCain campaign reminds the public of some Tim Conway comedy routine for all of it's almost laughable problems. Such news cannot good for John McCain.
