Sarah Palin's $150,000 Wardrobe - Banghor, Maine

The Republican National Committee spent $150,000 on clothing and accessories for Sarah Palin and her family since early September, according to a report by the Politico Web site. Above, the Republican vice presidential nominee, with Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, in Bangor, Maine, Oct. 16.

Spokeswoman Maria Comella declined to answer specific questions about the expenditures, including whether it was necessary to spend that much and whether it amounted to one early investment in Palin or if shopping for the vice presidential nominee was ongoing.

"The campaign does not comment on strategic decisions regarding how financial resources available to the campaign are spent," she said.

I had no idea "Hockey Mom's" were so interested in high-end fashion...

If spending $150,000 on haute-couture for a self-described " Valley-Trash" isn't the fashion equivalent of "putting lipstick on a pig," I don't know what is...

In related news, Joe Biden buys all of his clothes at Home Depot and Barack Obama clothes himself by extensive use of thrift stores.

No wonder they had to spend that much, gotta get the trailer trash dressed up, right? It would take the average family 80 years to spend that much on clothes.

Come on. She's following through on Obama's idea of spreading the wealth around! I'm sure the sales clerks, security guards, maintenance crews, fabric weavers, tailors, seamstresses, etc. are NOT complaining about how much she spent on those clothes!

The average family that makes daily national television appearances would probably spend that much. Does anyone believe that Nancy Pelosi spends less?

They won't keep the clothes in any event, they get to play dress-up for the election and then it's back to sweats and parkas, or they spend their own money to buy equivalents if they're elected.

Yet another aspect of sexism -- a woman spending too much on clothes.

Lee Ward[TypeKey Profile Page]:

The amount spent on the children was small - under $10,000, so $140,000 or more was spent on Sarah - Hockey Mom Sarah - defender of Joe the Plumber Sarah - in her $5,000 suits.

It's obscene - it's nothing less than obscene. Spending $150,000 on clothes is totally out of whack - but exactly what you'd expect from the defenders of the rich.

Cindy no doubt spends that much and they were quick to indoctrinate Hockey Mom Sarah into the lifestyle that Joe the Plumber will never see under Republican rule.

"Obscene" - there's no other word for it...
