Woman Denies Halloween Candy to Children of Obama supporters

Detroit Free Press:

A Grosse Pointe Farms woman has doled out political tricks by refusing Halloween treats to children whose parents support Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Shirley Nagel passed out candy Friday -- but only to those who shared her support for Republican presidential candidate John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin.

Fox 2 News says a sign posted outside Nagel's house, about 12 miles west of Detroit, served notice to all trick-or-treaters. It read: "No handouts for Obama supporters, liars, tricksters or kids of supporters."

Nagel tells WJBK-TV that "Obama's scary." When asked about children who'd been turned away empty-handed and crying, she said: "Oh well. Everybody has a choice."

That is really sad that someone would stoop that low. Hopefully not all GOP people are that mean and stupid, but who knows?

One web site published her name, address, and phone #. If she has problems, well you reap what you sow, and she did a good job of it.

Betty Boop:

Ms Nagel is scary!

Good job! You got a whole post without mentioning "Republican family values"! You get your first pin.

MunDane, well thank you. But I still want to know what the GOP "family values" are. Isn't there one wingnut out there that can explain, not only to me, but to everyone just what those values are?

Or is it just a lie, like THAT ONE is a Muslim, yet want to know about his relation is with Rev. Wright. Muslims have Ayatollahs, Christens have Reverends. I mean, after all, it is very confusing to someone who has a love for History, and does a lot of reading in their retired life.

Do you think you could explain this crazy thinking that some GOP people have? And I have so many pins, but I will appreciate the one you have for me. Thanks a bunch, you betcha, wink.

Well, I have to admit a few things here.

First, it is her decision to hand out candy in any manner she sees fit. If she wants to be an ass, she can.

Second, if parents read the sign and then took their kids to the door, it is their fault that the kids ended up crying.

Third, I hope that everyone that went trick or treating took note and will patronize her accordingly next year.
