"In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed."

President George W. Bush - June 5, 2003:

"America sent you on a mission to remove a grave threat and to liberate an oppressed people, and that mission has been accomplished."

Rodney:

Weird, your predicting the future? If it doesn't happen can we call you on it?

Lee Ward:

Obama has set a pullout date of about a year from now. The "7 years" is based on that.

I suspect we won't be out of Iraq sooner -- so Bush was, at a minimum, off by 7 years.

Of course you can call me on it. What do you think I am -- a Republican? Unlike President Bush and his legion of apologists, I won't deny what I've said.

drlava:

I say the mission is far, far from complete. The "surge" only delayed the inevitable attempt to cleanse the Sunnis. When the 50 million dollars a month payments to the sheiks stop all hell will break loose. Bush should be locked up for life for the 600,000 deaths he caused, the millions of refugees, the total destruction of a country that didn't attack us, the cost is incalculable.

Also to blame are the submissive, terrified, conservatives/republicans that bought into his bullshit and enabled the moron to achieve this biblical cluster-fuck.

Rodney:

Lee, you read that, Drlava is calling you a liar.

Though the banner was really for the aircraft carrier crew completing it's current mission at the time.

Tim:

Now, now, Rodney. Stop confusing us with facts. Of course, if you contend that it was George Bush who ordered the banner hung, you have to accept that Barak Obama was lying when he said he didn't know about his airplane was creating a new terror scare.
