Amy:

I think Sarah Palin just needs more experience and has to do more "homework". So she might be a far better politician. But at her current state she really would have been a bad vice president.

Paul Hooson:

Hello Amy. I know that this wasn't my best feature ever here on Wizbang Blue. Probably my most juvenile is the answer. But still I think the problems with Sarah Palin run far deeper than merely needing more experience. Her fight with Letterman reviews that she's a petty person, picking small fights where other more intelligent persons merely ignore the jokes the comics tell, or even laugh at them such as at some celebrity roast. Further, she seems to go to great lengths to remind voters of all of her family problems and tabloid stories which isn't helpful. She may have some pockets of fans, but she's hardly a likely GOP nominee for president. Mitt Romney might have the best chance if he wasn't Mormon, because too many GOP votes count his religion against him. Further Romney seems to have real problems with honesty as well and not really representing things honestly, which is a real problem I have with any politician that does this. Likely President Obama will be re-elected in 2012, leaving 2016 for more serious GOP candidates to run, so the GOP won't attract their best talent in 2012 just to lose the election and ruin their best shot later. However, like Mr. Obama, who ran for president this time, with little Senate experience, a strong candidate could attempt to take a shot at things if they have keen political instincts. But Sarah Palin sure doesn't in my view. She seems often clueless are reading things compared to most politicians I've seen. Even a Richard Nixon was a success because of keen political instincts.
