Let the Debate Continue

There was one point in last night's debate where in the middle of a complex answer it became obvious that Obama was repeating his stump speech word-for-word, strengthening my impression that the fellow sometimes has difficulty staying focused. Does he not realize that he's repeating a speech verbatim? Or is he just unable to stop himself -- and in either case what does that say about his expressed willingness to run off and engage every despot and rogue leader in a dialog of Kumbaya Obama-goodness?

Obama Repeats False Claim Regarding Health Care

Barack did it again, repeating the same false claim that he made in last week's Wisconsin attack ad.

Imagine Clinton and Obama are Tied in Delegates

UPDATE: An accidentally released Obama campaign document envisions a virtual tie in delegates going into the convention. ---original post begins here--- It would be a Democratic Convention Nightmare if Obama and Clinton are in a virtual tie after the primaries are all over and neither receive a decisive-enough delegate count or public mandate. Keith Olbermann did a fairly decent job last night in explaining how the delegates -- and more importantly the super-delegates -- add up and factor in to the Democratic Party's nomination process. Watch the video (4:43): For now, let's just hope that one of the candidates emerges and moves forward with a decisive-enough delegate count to make the question moot. The other possibility is a little too frightening to consider...

Obama Lost the Debate, Supporters Pretend to Not Notice

No question Obama lost last Thursday's debate, but try to find an Obama supporter (or a journalist) who will admit that. I found one, in San Francisco of all places.

More Signs of Recession Ahead

With today's bad jobs report out we are obviously slipping closer to a full-blown recession, which -- for Democrats -- will likely mean a boost for Hillary Clinton's candidacy.

New York Times To Endorse Hillary Clinton & John McCain

Rumor has it that the New York Times will endorse Hillary Clinton in an editorial this weekend. I don't think this will have much effect on South Carolina, but it could give Clinton a boost further down the road. UPDATE: Reuters confirms the endorsement and reports the NYT's is endorsing John McCain on the GOP side.

Scoring the December 13 Iowa Democratic Debate

I tuned in late to yesterday's debate but got to see the second half. It was obvious that the in-fighting and cross-firing of rhetoric was lessened. One news report suggested that there was an agreement amongst the candidates to...

Since Bill "I've never met a nappy-headed, corn-rowed, ice-tea drinking black person I didn't like" O'Reilly and his hip-hop hypocrisy is so much in the news these days, this item from Salon's Tim Grieve really hits a high-note on the...
