Republican strategists are certainly expecting a very tough political environment to retain the White House in 2008, and the Bush Administration is gearing up for a huge new military effort staged from Afghanistan to capture Osama Bin Laden and announce his capture right before the election in an effort to boost John McCain.

As a long-term, vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton's candidacy I feel the time has come. It's time to give credit where credit is due. Last night's Indiana and North Carolina primaries were turning points in the Democratic nomination contest -- as both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama predicted they would be -- but things didn't turn in Hillary Clinton's direction. Obama's victory in North Carolina and virtual tie in Indiana, despite the obstacles placed in his way, shows he has what it takes to go the distance, and I now stand behind and in support of Barack Obama's candidacy for President of the United States.

Despite his statement just last week that the primary process should run its full course (apparently another lie, something Obama is doing a lot of these days) Obama's people are at it again.

TIME's Mark Halperin does a pretty good job of capsulizing Clinton's strategy going forward (on March 28, 2008).

Obama talks about how he'll do it instead of what he'll do! Clinton has the experience, and the specific plan. We need to invest in our futures. We need solutions. We need Clinton.

He's back. It'll be interesting to see the effect, if any, that Nader has on the Democratic party today. The far-left radicals I know are firmly in Obama's camp, and they are extremely unlikely to abandon Obama in favor of Nader. And one of Nader's strongholds in his past bids were young voters, who today clearly have caught Obama fever, so -- today -- it's hard to see how Nader's candidacy will have a significant impact on the 2008 outcome...but the same thing was said back in the early days of the 2000 presidential race.

Note that in the furor over McCain's absence from the supposed "cone of silence" at the Saddleback forum last Saturday night, the McCain campaign is repeatedly stating that McCain did not hear any of the proceedings... but they aren't saying he wasn't coached or fed the questions by someone who did hear the broadcast, are they...?

During Saturday night's forum in Saddleback, Senator John McCain was asked what income level constituted "rich" - and he answered $5 million or more. Other millionaires ($2 million... $3 million,... $4 million...) aren't rich, in McCain's view, and shouldn't be taxed as if they were... It makes you wonder just how out of touch John McCain is with most of Americans. So does this video...
