The sham election in Iran, and the brutal suppression of the prodemocracy demonstrators in Iran reviewed Iran is little more than theocratic-military dictatorship. Unfortunately, many of the same signs are also present in Iraq as well, where Prime Minister Nouri...

One reality that many critics on the right seem to ignore about Iran when claiming the President Obama should do more to intervene in their internal politics is that the United States is a mostly hated state by most people...

Many weekend rallies by Iranians living in the U.S. involved waving American flags and calls for more American involvement in Iran. Further, some Republicans such as John McCain continued to call for more American involvement in the political struggle. However,...

This weekend's rigged election in Iran as well as the roadblocks thrown up by both the Israeli government and by the Palestinians only all too well prove the major obstacles to real Mideast peace. In Iran, it was pretty clear...

This past week's successful foreign policy spree by President Obama managed to flawlessly achieve several very important objectives and to help to defocus some concern by many Americans on the controversial bankruptcy efforts to rescue both GM and Chrysler. These...

Although neither coalition has officially chosen the next government of Israel until February 18. It is pretty clear that moderate Tzipi Livni of the Kadima Party probably will fail to be able to form a coalition government with Labor or...

On the surface of it all, Israel's actions to protect their citizens from attacks from Hamas rockets that have grown more deadly and able to reach deeper into Israeli territory seems like a clearcut national security choice. One the other...

By now you would really think that Hamas would only realize that continued rocket attacks on Israeli civilians would only provoke a violent Israeli military action at some point. But apparently Hamas is so radicalized that common sense just doesn't...

While oil prices have witnessed a massive tumble in recent weeks in response to the lower demand impact because of the retreating global economy, new world tensions might act to send prices higher very soon. The first evidence of this...

Defenders of the Bush Administration continue to claim "success" for "the surge". Yet they continue to gloss over some terrible events that only continue in Iraq in which the Islamic majority continues a genocidal wave of violence to rid Iraq...

After Barack Obama gained the influential endorsement of General Colin Powell and many major newspapers including the CHICAGO TRIBUNE which hasn't endorsed a Democrat for president in 150 years, John McCain received an embarrassing endorsement from a shadowy Al Qaeda...

The American media has been running with the border security conflict news story between Georgia and Russia the last few days and unfortunately inspiring new Cold War tensions as a result. Perhaps even the slight surge of support for John...

While Senator Barack Obama flawlessly wrapped up a highly successful tour of the Mideast and Europe last week and helped to raise up respect for the United States after the frictional foreign policy of George Bush with many states...

Increasingly, these world power rivals of the U.S., all united by oil will draw in other anti-U.S. states and create a dangerous axis of anti-American oil powers and states that hate the U.S. And as oil prices still hover near record levels, the amount of vast income generated will only help to fuel the purchase or building of new and more dangerous military hardware by these anti-American oil states.

The American news media has certainly focused far less on Iraq news coverage since "the surge" has resulted in far less deaths of American service persons. Unfortunately viewing this war in a prism of how it impacts only the U.S.,...

Despite official Israeli government resolutions not to negotiate with either terrorists or rival states that support terrorism, the government of Israel has now officially acknowledged that it is actively involved in talks with both Hamas and Syria and is seeking...

To many Republican politicians, the term "appeasement" conjures up dirty images of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who had hoped to somehow construct a foreign policy of coexistence between a democratic Europe and a fascist Germany. Yet, during the Cold War years, and even now in the post-Cold War modern world with most nations still not democratic in nature, Republican presidential administrations including the Bush White House have simply practiced "appeasement" with undemocratic nations or leaders in some form or other.

For the $500 billion dollar cost of this war in Iraq, the U.S. really hasn't achieved very much so far. The weak central government only survives from day to day with strong U.S. support. That's the honest truth.

Wizbang Blue's Paul Hooson asks: Does the American public really want to buy a used war from John McCain? No doubt candidate John McCain will be running for president on some "surge is working" myth platform. However it was not that long ago that the same John McCain took a photo-opt trip to an Iraqi market and claimed how "safe" it now was in Iraq to shop, not bothering to mention that nearly 100 American Apache helicopters and about 2,000 soldiers had helped to secure the area just enough for McCain to get a few pictures for political propaganda purposes.

I've written so extensively about Iraq since the start of the 2003 war that I can cite four major landmark events that helped to doom the effort as a complete failure. Washington certainly could have avoided any of these...

Unfortunately, Iran only continues to prove itself to be the big winner of the failed U.S. policy efforts in Iraq. New meetings with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have apparently cemented a firmer relationship that...
