Governor Rendell was a big help to Clinton in Pennsylvania, and Clinton needs the same kind of boost in North Carolina, and it looks like Governor Easley will provide that boost. A person close to North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley...

Carolyn Lochead makes an argument that Obama really needs to stop Clinton in Indiana. Part of Obama's strategy is to keep his mouth shut and not debate Clinton prior to the Indiana primary. Gutsy move, Barack.

AP isn't reporting any vote totals since the polls are still open. Late deciders in other primaries have largely broken for Clinton, and the final polls shows as high as 10-11% percent undecided in Pennsylvania.

Despite his statement just last week that the primary process should run its full course (apparently another lie, something Obama is doing a lot of these days) Obama's people are at it again.

In Barack Obama's world there are Clinton states, and there Obama states, and the Clinton states like Michigan and Florida don't count, and forget about voting in a primary if you haven't already -- your vote doesn't matter to Barack Obama.

Re-doing the Florida and Michigan primaries is a necessary step towards resolving the Democratic nomination. These voters voices should be heard. Fortunately, it looks like Clinton's folks and the officials in Florida and Michigan are setting the wheels in motion to make this happen.

If the press scrutiny Obama faced this last week had been occurring for the last two months the delegate count today would be an entirely different story. Fortunately, when we reach the convention in August we will have the benefit of super delegates who can vote to reflect the realities there in August, and the Democratic party won't have to settle for the candidate who was able to bamboozle the most delegates out of the voters -- aided by a complacent and fawning press.

I am in the camp that says Clinton will continue to the convention, and will not withdraw from the race before then.

UPDATE: An accidentally released Obama campaign document envisions a virtual tie in delegates going into the convention. ---original post begins here--- It would be a Democratic Convention Nightmare if Obama and Clinton are in a virtual tie after the primaries are all over and neither receive a decisive-enough delegate count or public mandate. Keith Olbermann did a fairly decent job last night in explaining how the delegates -- and more importantly the super-delegates -- add up and factor in to the Democratic Party's nomination process. Watch the video (4:43): For now, let's just hope that one of the candidates emerges and moves forward with a decisive-enough delegate count to make the question moot. The other possibility is a little too frightening to consider...

The Associated Press declared Barack Obama the winner of the South Carolina Democratic Party Primary Saturday night just minutes after the primary polling locations closed at 7:00 PM. They are calling the race a win for Obama based on their exit polls. This post will be updated with actual tallies and results as the evening progresses.

Buoyed by widespread support among African American voters who are planning to participate in the Democratic Party primary here, Obama wins 41% support, compared to 26% for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton and 19% for former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards. Clinton and Edwards are splitting the support of white voters, who make up about half of the total Democratic electorate here.

The Democratic race in South Carolina is tightening, with both Clinton and Edwards moving up, cutting points off Obama's lead. John Edwards moved up two points overnight, with Clinton moving up one point and Obama losing one point compared to...

Rumor has it that the New York Times will endorse Hillary Clinton in an editorial this weekend. I don't think this will have much effect on South Carolina, but it could give Clinton a boost further down the road. UPDATE: Reuters confirms the endorsement and reports the NYT's is endorsing John McCain on the GOP side.

Senator Clinton is employing an interesting strategy in South Carolina, effectively ceding the state to Obama's strength among black voters, but not letting him walk away with the win just yet. As the race between Clinton and Obama has tightened...

Seems that the McCain campaign folks never bothered to license the music they were illegally exploiting for free featuring in the videos. Updated and Bumped: They did it again - the second time in two weeks. Apparently copyright laws are among the laws easily ignored by the McCain camp. Third Update: They did it again and now they're being sued.
