Interestingly, it is disgraced U.S. Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho) and Rep. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) that have already introduced legislation to exempt oil from the U.S. embargo rules with Cuba. Increasingly, these world power rivals of the U.S., all united by oil will draw in other anti-U.S. states and create a dangerous axis of anti-American oil powers and states that hate the U.S. And as oil prices still hover near record levels, the amount of vast income generated will only help to fuel the purchase or building of new and more dangerous military hardware by these anti-American oil states.

I suspect that tanking the economy and throwing the country into a recession is a Rovian-style strategy -- Republicans know they will lose the election this November, so they are making sure America enters a deep recession, that could well turn into a depression.... but that is clearly the motive behind the Republican move to throw Americans out of work and tank the US dollar further.

With so many bad economic dominoes falling into place creating a perfect storm of problems for the American economy, ranging from sharply higher energy prices, inflation, an economic and real estate slowdown and a sinking American dollar, you cannot help but blame the failed 'war for oil' in Iraq as being the cornerstone that helped to trigger this latest downfall for the American economy.
