This Washington Post VP debate fact-check accounting shows Palin and Biden as about even on the mis-speak scale, but that isn't stopping the more rabid of the right from doing some heavily partisan oral foaming, pointing out Biden's oops and conveniently ignoring Palin's wrongs in the process. A real-time poll sampling over 1000 debate viewer reactions found Independent voters swarming for Biden 3-1 or more.

The next question is... Are they choosing Hillary because she's better, or do they figure she's easier to beat? Answer: She's better - or as the folks in the red states like to say it -- she's the least objectionable (exactly what I've said about McBush).

AP isn't reporting any vote totals since the polls are still open. Late deciders in other primaries have largely broken for Clinton, and the final polls shows as high as 10-11% percent undecided in Pennsylvania.

Clinton has now moved ahead 46%-45%. In just two days, since the debate Wednesday night, Barack Obama has dropped a stunning 5 percentage points in this national poll, with Clinton moving up 5%, suggesting that Obama defectors are not moving into the undecided camp, but crossing straight across to Clinton.

In a Democratic Primary in Pennsylvania today, 04/08/08, two weeks to the vote, Hillary Clinton defeats Barack Obama 56% to 38%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WCAU-TV Philadelphia, KDKA-TV Pittsburgh, WHP-TV Harrisburg, and WNEP-TV Wilkes-Barre. The results are almost identical to a SurveyUSA poll released one month ago. Then, Clinton led by 19. Today, 18. In between, however, in a SurveyUSA tracking poll released last week, Obama had closed to within 12 points. What happened in the past 7 days?

"When it comes to November, Sen. Hillary Clinton's strength is a big edge over Sen. Barack Obama among white voters, who have not given a majority of their votes to a Democratic presidential nominee since Lyndon Johnson in 1964," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute."

Barack Obama's popularity is plummeting. In just seven days he's gone from 50% to 42%, and Clinton has risen from 44% to 49%, giving Clinton a 7 percentage point lead in a poll with a 3 point margin of error.

On a South Carolina Saturday Barack Obama proved he can rally African-American Democrats to his cause, but his performance among the remaining voting demographics showed that he still has an uphill battle ahead of him in order to win the nomination. With Clinton focused squarely on New York, New Jersey, Arkansas, and California and polling strongly with big leads in those states, which comprise 44% of the Super Tuesday delegates, Obama has an uphill battle to win the nomination, but he's not without a plan.

Buoyed by widespread support among African American voters who are planning to participate in the Democratic Party primary here, Obama wins 41% support, compared to 26% for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton and 19% for former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards. Clinton and Edwards are splitting the support of white voters, who make up about half of the total Democratic electorate here.

Coming out of the South Carolina debate a few days ago we see Barack Obama hurting somewhat as a result of the scandal and increased news coverage questioning his ties to a Chicago slumlord. He dropped three points in the Zogby overnight poll, and I suspect he'll drop further in the last two days before the primary.
